Here’s a new look at the characters from Hotel Transylvania!

posterpark

i’m not one to call out a film before i see it but literally all the advertising i’ve seen of this movie is 100% based around the fact that it has a huge celebrity cast

which is a good way to make me have no interest whatsoever in even kind of seeing it

I think the characters (and the first impressions I get from the designs) are very representative of the actors that play them.

  • Kevin James is an amalgamation of generic funny things and jokes that don’t really stand out from each other.
  • Adam Sandler sucks the comedy out of most things (like a vampire sucks blood) whenever he tries to be funny.
  • No one really pays attention to David Spade. Invisible seems fitting.
  • Fran Drescher is loud and obnoxious so Frankenstein’s Wife (at least in every comedic form of the character) is known to be similar.
  • Andy Samberg, like Kevin James, doesn’t really stand out on his own and is kind of the sum of what the mass population generally finds funny
  • And Selena Gomez has always given the impression (to me, at least) like she is just looking for attention.

Who knew these were on the way!

Who cares? They’re here. Forgive the tYpos, but we’re typing this super fast so we can dart on over to Toys R Us and snag us each a Lady Rainicorn, Lumpy Space Princess (or, um, “Princess Lumpy”), and Ice King plush. Made by Jazwares, the items are retailing for an obscenely inexpensive $8.99 (cheap!). Go now.

Oh my god I want the Lady Rainicorn one so bad!

30 Under 30: Entertainment
Our look at the 30 people in entertainment who you should be watching is a mix of folks from the worlds of film, television, sports and video games. Our sports stars are people like LeBron Jameswho are already changing the game. Lou Imbriano of TrinityOne consultancy helped with those choices. For our video game picks Sims creator Will Wright helped us nominate young gamers.Gossip Girl producer Stephanie Savage and Relativity Media co- president Tucker Tooley weighed in with their picks for Hollywood stars.
The entertainment industry is rife with young people who could be considered up-and-coming. For the sake of this list we looked for slightly under-the-radar stars like Chloe Moretz who have the potential to earn $20 million paychecks and people who are building real businesses and brands around themselves like Donald Glover and Jonah Hill.
We also included two of Larry Ellison‘s children, David and Megan, because both are proving that not all rich kids come to Hollywood to throw their money away and party. David Ellison is helping Paramount finance big films like Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol and his sister Megan recently picked up the rights to the Terminator franchise.
For more on the young people who are having an impact check out our other 30 Under 30 lists here.

Pen and Adventure Time in Forbes
Head on over to Forbes for David M. Ewalt prying out of Pen a new batch of answers on what’s going on and what’s coming up with Adventure Time (including if we’re going to see another Fionna & Cake episode). Also:

What celebrity would you love to cast as a voice on the show?
In an upcoming episode, a four headed deity named Grob Gob Glob Grod, rockets down to Ooo from Mars. We were hoping to cast the heads as Bill Murray, Bill Cosby, Bill Clinton and Bill Nye the Science Guy. Fingers crossed.

James Wilkie & Matthew Broderick in New York, Halloween 2011
The AT aliens!
A few people sent over the Adventure Time celebrity news that the children of actors Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick dressed up as Finn for Halloween. I was all set to let it float into the slipstream when Badger 23 pointed out a piece in UK’s Daily Mail where they identified the children’s costumes as an “alien.” Luckily, a sharp sighted fan set everyone straight. Thanks Trutwo.
